Award winning photographer, Jay McLaughlin's images express his unique and perceptive views of his subjects. His imagination is second only to his compositional skill and he never fails to produce outstanding images that encapsulate an artistic insight, a powerful depth of character and sometimes even a sense of humour.

Jay specialises in commercial and editorial portraiture, with his enjoyment of a challenge evident in his images across the range of his work. Whether in a studio or on location, Jay produces spectacular results.

Jay has always been a visually creative person who loves taking photos, but rather than photography, he chose design as his career initially. Studying at the Surrey Institute of Art & Design, Jay often created work which was heavily photograph based. After finishing his degree, he worked for several companies, both as an in-house designer and at design agencies, however, in 2006 he was becoming disillusioned with the industry and politics involved in it. Following his redundancy from his in-house design role at a large international manufacturing company, Jay decided to pursue a career in photography, and has never looked back!
