For the last few days I've been watching legendary fashion photographer Nick Knight shooting his '100 Portraits' project for ID Magazine. How have I done this? They're streaming the shoots live over the internet from Somerset House in London! Nick has been shooting a wide range of people from Lady Gaga, to Boy George and Jedward. Watching other people shoot is always a great way to learn, or reaffirm that what you do is right. They've got multiple cameras so you can see both the studio setup, and the final images as they come up on the tethered computer screen.

Modified Motors : November 2009

Redline : November 2009

The latest issue of Redline magazine is out this featuring some of my work.

A couple of months ago they were giving away free laps of the world famous Nürburgring circuit. I was asked to cover a trip to the Ring to show people using the free laps.

I've also got photos from my coverage of Trax @ Silverstone from back at the beginning of September.

Performance French Cars

Whilst at the Nürburgring back in June, I shot a Peugeot 205 for the latest Performance French Cars magazine cover.

Driving Sounds

Following my earlier blog about shooting for issue 1 of a new car audio magazine, I'm pleased to say that it's now all in print! I was commissioned to shoot all the features for the first issue, which included cars like a Ferrari F50, Mercedes CLK and Porsche 964.

Max Power : June 2009

Max Power's June issue is on shelves today featuring my first major automotive cover. Xquisite's bright yellow wide-arched Honda Civic shoot took place back in March after I shot the X2C Newbie Meet (see below for that feature) at the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent, UK. I lucked out with this shoot as Bluewater has colour coded carparks and we happened to be in the yellow carpark, which really made the shoot come together.



Following her feature in Modified Motors' March issue, my Lydia Yap shoot also got a page in Max Power.



Max Power's new Babe Squad will be attending numerous shows this year. I helped Phil Steinhardt shoot their feature and posters back in March.



X2C are car club who hold an annual meet for new members to get to know the regulars. Max Power hired me to cover the event before shooting Xquisite's Honda Civic for their cover.

Here's a quick pic from my photoshoot with Lydia Yap, featured in the March issue of Modified Motors in Ireland. The shoot spanned 5 pages and also included another shot on the cover.

Four : Porsche 964

Another mag shoot. This time for issue 1 of an industry car audio magazine. They wanted something appropriate to the car and their target audience so I opted to shoot this using only available light. I darkened down the sky using quite a harsh ND grad filter to help add to the moodyness.

So far this is only a prototype. Hopefully the first issue will be in print pretty soon!

Professional Imagemaker Magazine

Following my previous post, here's a shot of my winning photo in the latest issue of SWPP's members magazine.

Incidentally, today was my last day as a member of SWPP. There are many reasons for my leaving, but although SWPP wasn't for me, I did meet some great people... oh and I won an award!

Practical Photography : March 2009

I'm featured in a small article in the latest issue of Practical Photography magazine. Just before Christmas I was asked if I had any strange non-photographic bits of equipment that I use on shoots etc. Well I'm a great lover of DIY tools and accessories in photography so I had plenty to choose from. I opted for my lens cleaning method of using Rizla cigarette papers.

Fast Car : February 2009

Back in August I blogged about attending the GTI Tuning Show at Magny Cours, France for Fast Car. Well the February 2009 issue went on sale this week (don't ask me why the february issue came out in december!!!) complete with a 5 page report containing my photography.
