Jessica Murray-Hall

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting Jessica Murray-Hall, a commercial dancer from near the south coast. She needed some new shots to send to her agency, not just showing her look, but also to give a sense of her dance style.

When I'm shooting dancers, I try not to get them to do "dance poses". For me, dance is about the movement, so rather then try and stage the shots I want, I simply put some music on and get my subject to dance. This creates far more movement in the shots and they look much less contrived.

Samantha Vale

Samantha Vale, who I blogged about last year, is running the London Marathon next year and needed some shots of her in her running gear to try and gain sponsorship. So, on a very wet tuesday morning, we went out to play in the countryside near her home.

The shoot went very well, and we got some great images, but the highlight of my day was learning I have the ability to run backwards and still take photos!!!........
